The Red Lion’s style can be described as contemporary Kent and features incredible local lunchtime specials, a walkers’ menu and Butcher & Trawler boards to share. Sunday lunches at The Red Lion are as popular as ever with the finest cuts of meat (the highlight being the sirloin of beef). Whether it’s for a quiet family lunch, a birthday or special occasion, their Crown Post restaurant upstairs can hold up to 50 seated guests.
At the bar you will find a drink for whatever mood you’re in. From their premium lagers, Peroni and Curious Brew, to real ales, Master Brew, Harveys and a local guest.
They work closely with their vintner to select wines to complement
their dishes from all over the world. During the summer, if you’re on your way to the beach, or a pit-stop on your country walk, be sure to come and make the most of their beer garden.
The pub is open all day (lunch stops at 2.30pm), while its lovely garden has a small entertainment area for younger guests, and they welcome dogs.
There are a few tables at the front that look across to the church and are excellent suntraps. Steeped in history this 13th century Hall House has been totally refurbished by the White family.
It retains many distinctive character features including exposed beams, flagstone floors and crown post ceiling and an inviting log fire.
