The Kent County Show

F or three days a year, animals, horses, vintage vehicles, retail stands and more converge on the Kent Showground in Detling for a celebration of the best of the county.
This year, the event is on 5, 6 and 7 July, and the International Dzhigitovka Show will take centre stage to demonstrate the world-class military and gymnastic skills of the British Dzhigitovka Team, joined by current world champion Sergey Murugov and other national champions.
Riding on Andalucian stunt horses, the team will thrill with flaming jumps, horseback archery, and human pyramids.
The performers have trained with Russian Cossacks in the special style of trick riding, or dzhigitovka, to put on a fast-paced display of stunts.
In 2019, the Kent County Show celebrates 90 years and continues to offer a variety of entertainment and shopping across the three days, including food halls, the Garden Life area, Antiques Village, handmade crafts, showjumping and heavy horse turnouts.
A new display from the Herigeas Hundus re-enactment group will bring the Saxons to life as they join old favourites in the Kent County Show’s entertainment line-up, including the Sheep Show, birds of prey, pole climbing and live music.
Visit the Kent County Show and make memories with your family and friends that will last a lifetime.
