Take 5 in the Caribbean

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is the perfect destination,
whether you’re after romance,
rejuvenation or adventure. It is home
to the majestic Piton Mountains which
are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In fact, legend has it that the Arawak
Indians from South America used to
travel hundreds of miles by canoe
to worship the Pitons. On Friday
nights the streets light up during their
exhilarating local street parties, here
you will be able to enjoy the vibrant
calypso music. Saint Lucia is also
famous for its world renowned jazz
festival, fascinating and colourful
craft markets and a French/English/
African heritage all combine to create
a picture perfect tropical destination.
A stay at East Winds, Saint Lucia – an
all-inclusive 30 room boutique hotel
– will allow you to take a boat tour
to the Pitons – just one of the many
‘Exclusive Experiences’ guests can
enjoy when staying at this intimate
and elegant hotel.

Barbados

Barbados is known for its fantastic coastline. The long white sandy beaches are among the best in the world and a true taste of tropical paradise. Famed for its great nightlife, the south coast is home to the liveliest bars and clubs while the glamorous west coast is for the more refined where there are plenty of gourmet restaurants and trendy bar lounges to choose from. When staying in Barbados you can enjoy an abundance of activities as there is a lot more to do than just lying
on the beach! Check out the fabulous coral reefs on a catamaran cruise or try diving. If you would like to explore the underwater world and stay dry you can even
take a submarine from Bridgetown. In addition there are also great surfing opportunities on the East coast. If you are wanting a stay with a difference do not miss Little Good Harbour. This 21 suite and villa property is located away from the bustle of the ever developing West Coast. The historical aspect is certainly part of the appeal of the property, and the original 17th century fort has been carefully and tastefully restored to create a restaurant ‘The Fish Pot’, and a bar, as well as two of
the hotel’s luxury suites. Sister hotel The Atlantis offers chic suites with another delicious restaurant. Perfect for a short break whilst exploring the Island.

Antigua

If you are a beach lover, you must visit Antigua. It has 365 white sandy beaches – one for each day of the year! And of course the azure sea. Antigua is a haven for food lovers. Treat your taste buds by sampling Antigua’s local delicacies. Don’t miss the black pineapple, breadfruit and pepperpot – a spicy beef and vegetable
stew. Enjoy authentic flavors at South  Point, a brand new hotel in the fashionable Falmouth Harbour offering an oceanfront restaurant open to the fabulous views
and serving delicious cuisine and tasty cocktails. Or for a truly world class resort; Curtain Bluff hotel has been around for over 50 years. This hotel consistently
achieves high standards of service from their team
of dedicated staff, as well as receiving rave reviews
from their guests. Both couples and families alike are
attracted to its unique position on a bluff with two white
sand beaches, along with their numerous inclusive
sports activities and the most sublime spas.

Jamaica

Jamaica has so much diversity
making it an exciting and vibrant
destination. From the Blue
Mountain range right down to the
golden sandy beaches, Jamaica is
oozing with natural beauty and
there is something for everyone.
Its rich culture means there is
always something interesting to
do or see, from the Bob Marley
celebrations to the Jerk Festival
during the summer. Jamaica is a
world class destination for golf,
as well as many other sporting
activities including land and
water based sports, hiking trails,
river rafting, as well as some of
the more sedate pursuits such as
bird watching and discovering
the natural flora and fauna that
Jamaica has in abundance.
Jamaicans are great entertainers
and renowned artisans so part of
any itinerary must include a visit
to a Rum shop, Jerk station, art
gallery or a market just to enjoy
their unique spirit.
Jamaica is one of the most
naturally beautiful, diverse
and popular destinations in
the Caribbean and Jamaica Inn
allow its guests to enjoy all of
the beauty of the island from a
peaceful and relaxing haven.
We love the fact that you can
lose yourself in the stillness
that surrounds the hotel, with
no reminders of the outside
world and just seemingly
endless tranquility. The entire
property is stylishly decorated
but the highlight has to be the
huge balconies and verandahs
extending from each suite.
Fully furnished, they act more
like open air living rooms and
it’s easy to see why they are the
hotel’s crowning glory.
Or for the achingly fashionable
try Sandy Haven, a hotel situated
on Jamaica’s infamous sevenmiles
of powdery white sand
beach… a perfect beachfront
setting, this is ‘contemporary
boutique’ at its best.
The advantage of staying here
is that although the hotel has
various meal plans available,
there is the buzzy Negril ‘hip
strip’ just on the doorstep, with
restaurants and bars for guests
to experience during the day, or
at night.

St. Vincent &
the Grenadines

St. Vincent & the Grenadines is a nation
of 32 islands located in the Lesser Antilles
between St. Lucia and Grenada. It evokes
an emotive response with visions of exotic,
idyllic island life. St Vincent is the largest
Grenadine Island and home to the capital,
Kingstown. This lively town is a throwback
to colonial times with cobblestone streets
and locals rushing about. The lush green,
rain forested interior has some great hiking and natural walk options. If pure escapism is something that appeals to you, Young Island is the place to be, because you can easily re-join civilization when you are ready! It will appeal to a wide range of guests and couples looking for some variety and a sense of adventure and you may well be attracted by the chance to spend a few nights sailing through the Grenadines. Bequia Beach Hotel is something special too, and a secret that is too good to keep hidden! Owner Bengt Mortstedt has created a hotel that mixes retro style with modern day chic, combined with all the conveniences one would expect from a luxurious new hotel. Neither pretentious, nor stuffy and where you can easily throw away all inhibitions without a care in the world, thus enabling you to enjoy a bare foot in the sand  experience and a truly memorable holiday at fantastic value for money. And the ‘piece de resistance’ is the island of Bequia
which has kept its true Caribbean charm
intact, while picking and choosing what it
wants from the 21st century – something
that is right on impossible to find! Essential Detail is a very personal hotel representation company. Their Caribbean portfolio includes exquisite boutique-style hotels, perfectly located in unspoilt parts of the West Indies. They are small, privately owned, very special resorts, recommended for their uniqueness, their impeccable service, and
delicious food.
