Your adventure begins in London. Here you will meet the first of your costumed guides who’ll prepare you for your pilgrimage to Canterbury. As you leave your guide to walk alongside Chaucer’s pilgrims, you will find yourself in the midst of a story-telling contest. Five of Chaucer’s colourful and entertaining tales of love, infidelity, intrigue, courtship and death are brought vividly to life as you make your journey through the recreated medieval scenes and listen to the audio guide. When you reach Canterbury, you will be met by a second costumed guide who will take you to your ultimate destination – the shrine of St Thomas Becket. This pilgrimage appeals to visitors of all ages.

Learn about Medieval Medicine in the herb garden, attend Storytelling and be whisked away into your imagination, learn Maypole Dancing and be knighted after taking lessons at Knight School. Free with entry into the attraction.

Join them this May Day for a Medieval Story Garden Special, including a Mystical Beasts Hunt and Knight School. If you’ve ever fancied becoming an archer like Robin Hood, you’ll also love their extra-special Longbow Demonstrations! Free with entry into the attraction.

Magical Patterns 27th May – 4th June
May half term will be one to remember with their special event, dedicated to magical patterns. Discover Kaleidoscopes, Hair Plaiting, Maypole Dancing and Pattern Colouring, as well as their extra-special Astrolabe Demonstrations where you will learn how to study the stars! Free with entry into the attraction.

The Medieval Story Garden, complete with favourites Medieval Medicine, Storytelling, Maypole Dancing and Knight School, will return for the day as part of Canterbury’s Medieval Pageant. There will be all sorts going on in the city that day, so it’s well worth a visit! Free with entry into the attraction.

Medieval Story Garden 22nd July-1st September
The firm favourite event returns for the summer holidays! Learn to read the stars with their Astrolabe Demonstrations, study Medieval Medicine to become a healer, take on the challenge of Knight School and be knighted by the Knight Master, and learn to Maypole Dance and see how well your family can do! Free with entry into the attraction.

Start on your Christmas shopping at their special Christmas fair, displaying the wares of local artisans, particularly celebrating crafts which hail from the medieval period and including various demonstrations so you can learn how incredible artisans have practiced these crafts through the ages. Magical Medieval Christmas 16th-17th December
Make this Christmas one to remember with a visit to the Canterbury Tales’ magical Christmas event! Meet all Santa’s giggly elves as they prepare for Christmas; can you help them with their tasks?
