T his year marks the 40th anniversary of the Wrotham Classic Steam & Transport Rally, a charity run by local people to raise money for local projects. The committee and helpers give their time completely free of charge. Known as being one of the friendliest car shows in Kent, they welcome over 800 classic vehicles, ranging from motorcycles to commercial vehicles and, of course, steam traction engines of all sizes.
There are military vehicles sitting alongside stationary engines, a large number of tractors, and hundreds of pre and post-war cars. There will be a selection of stalls selling crafts and local products, creating a Country Market atmosphere. For motor enthusiasts, there will be a number of autojumble stalls.Plus there will be rides for the kids and a chance to get close to the owls from Hartley Owls, and The Greyhound Trust will be running a dog show.
Relax and enjoy the food on offer and have a welcoming drink from the bar while sitting in the sun watching the vehicles showing off in the main ring.
Open to the public from 9am until 5pm. Admission: Family £15, Adults £7 Concessions (over 60) £5, Children under 5 go free, Children between 5 and 15 £2. There is a £1 reduction for booking tickets online.
