Kent racer TOM is on the right track

We toast Tom Emson, grandson of auctioneer Clive, as he goes full throttle in his Ginetta.

Young Tom Emson is one of our rising racing stars and is having a great autumn. One of his latest updates on his Facebook page said: “Another Perfect weekend at Croft – 3/3 Pro/Am wins and p6 overall, We were getting quicker as the weekend was going on.”
Having just also competed at Snetterton, he has now won eight of his last nine races.
So we asked Tom, 18, who lives in Folkestone, to tell us more about himself:
“My debut was in the Ginetta Junior Winter Championship in 2017 at what is now my home circuit, Brands Hatch – and it’s a seriously competitive series. This year I moved up to the Ginetta GT4 Supercup, which has a top speed of 155mph and no traction control or driver aides, which for me at 17 was a big leap.
“We are one of the support series for the British touring cars and the majority of our races are shown on ITV4. The last race of this season is at Brands Hatch on 15 November, and will be televised on ITV4.”
